DAS:
Direct attached storage (DAS), in the form of independent drives, RAID arrays is the most common storage architecture today. DAS is organized on disks as blocks of data, connected to a single computer via standard SCSI or Fiber Channel connections. DAS consists of an array of disks, a RAID controller, and an enclosure that provides power and cooling for the controller and disks.
